SO, we have reached our December edition already! It doesn’t seem possible after what has been a challenging 2021 for everyone.
But we have got there – we have arrived at the festive period and here at Bournefree we can look back on what has been a year of rapid growth and development.
And what’s more, we have some big plans for 2022.
First, we are pleased with the community engagement now in our monthly Bournefree magazine.
We have some great distribution outlets – and we thank each and every one of them fir stocking the magazine. We make sure that every month 99 per cent of copies are picked up by the public.
Our list of advertisers – and indeed our revenue – continues to grow, which again is very pleasing indeed.
It’s not easy out there, as other publishers will tell you, but our market share grows each month.
We were particularly pleased to publish a Christmas full colour glossy, which attracted the likes of Boom Battle Bar, The Beacon, The Lansdowne Hotel and W.Bruford.
Our plans do include more colour magazines in 2022.
Online growth is key to any publishing business, and we were fortunate that Lockdown did enable us to build the audience.
Our website bournefreelive.co.uk now attracts more than 80,000 people each month – and we update between 8 and 10 stories EVERY day of the week.
That then transfers onto our social media, including our incredibly popular Facebook page.
One story alone last Sunday was read by more than 25,000 people – a glowing example of our growing reach.
So, what for 2022?
Well, we want to become more community focused than ever.
We want to support community events and be involved where it matters.
We would like to increase our distribution further but that can only be done if the revenue goes up at the same time to cover the added costs.
And we want to see our website grow as well.
Our January edition will be out on the streets early in the New Year, and until then we want to say a big Thank You to everyone who has supported Bournefree over the past 12 months.
Happy Christmas to you all and a very merry New Year.
Let’s hope for a happy and relatively Covid-free 2022
